wednesday night
We had a very enjoyable sail tonight....a little on the windy side (in parts) and dry (for the most part.......that Carol!!). our top speed was (as I remember); 11.2 (or was it 18.2? [please leave a comment as to the top speed if you know better]). in honour of our admiral we tried to "carry the kite" both ways through ("I think we can carry both ways tonight/today") the channel.....as always; it didn't work.
There could be no "Light'nUp" without a "Mom"....thank you Mrs Cabrall.

The Light'n-up took second place in sat's " tri-island" race. we did our best and had alot of fun while doing it. went around treasure island, angel island, and red rock all to starboard trying to avoid a HUGE flood which never really seemed to give us any trouble. raced a few much bigger boats and corrected ahead of them. I believe we were beaten by a wylie 30 (please leave a comment if this is wrong). sorry no photos of the delicious lobster dinner that followed (you can just imagine the pile of used crustation). what follows (for a while anyway) are photos of the "official tri island race crew 2005"

after the race on sat I drove up north for a the party in honor of mr and mrs jph. there was a soul band, lots of great people, chickens, dogs, cats, a sing-in around the fire, fresh air, moonshine, and big drops of water falling on me as I tried to sleep by the fire under the fog. great time all thanks.
