finally we were back on the water!! the sun is setting alot earlier these days. our evening sails are coming to a close for the season. winter is setting in. the one good thing about all this is that the sun is at an angle that encourages sunsets as this one. we watched this one come on while sailing back to richmond friday night....

and it just got better and better and better....

here is the crew of the friday lightn-up sail people. we have been blessed with such flat water in the past month i don't know what i'll do when we get back to the usual rough- water wetness we are used to. the admiral and i went out at about 3pm, headed towards marin with puffs coming on at about a 25 degree shift in the wind.....it was really weird....at a certain point we decided to bare off and get some speeds up. i believe i saw a 9.6 on the knot meter sailing on a close to beam reach. we then set the kite and headed back to the barn. along the way we encountered about 20 other express 27s that had just finished the first of the nationals (what a bunch of posers). some asshole, for no reason at all, as we started to pass them, kept pushing us up and up (and we were flying a kite) this jerk just kept coming up and up...we almost had to put the kite down because this jerk just didn't let up! he finnally asked, like an ass, "oh...are you going this way too?".....now, usually when two boats are heading the same direction you can be pretty sure they are going the same direction....right? well, this jackass finally gave us some room so we rolled him...mocking his sail trim as we passed. we picked up all the folks you see in the photo and went out again and had a beautiful sail minus the assholes.

"come little one...with yer little dimpled fingers; gimmie one....and i'll buy you a cherry phosphate......."

here is a photo of surprise (the boat we sailed on wednesday)...isn't she purdy?
